Tremendous improvements have been emerged due to the new inventions of Science and Technology during the recent years. Accordingly the day to day life of man has been changed from manual to mechanical and from mechanical to electronics-based routine. When man moves from his residence to do his work normally he takes the help of a transport, may be self owned or hired, while some others go by walk if the work spot is near to the residence and if the distance is walk able. Though safety plays an important role in all the walks of life and work, this is the case where “Safety on the road” comes into the picture of man’s life.

Before going on to the aspects of “Safety on the road” let us discuss about the various modes of transport that a person takes for moving from place to place. They may include – Pedestrians, Cyclists, Motor-cyclists, three wheelers and four wheelers, Public carriers, Private Carriers and others. The risks involved on the road vary depending upon the mode of transport as such.

Each mode of transport has its precautions to be taken while on the road. Pedestrians should walk on the side ways and on the foot paths. Next comes the cyclists and accordingly the more automatic modes go side by side according to their speed and automation of travel. Then comes the maintaining the speed limits according to the traffic available on the road. Taking turnings and / or crossing the roads should be according to the traffic. Traffic rules and traffic signals should invariably be followed to avoid accidents on the roads. Lights and brakes of the vehicles should be well fitted and in good working condition. Speed of the vehicles should invariably be lowered at oily, slippery and sandy roads at all times. Driving learners should be more careful and should put “L” board at the front and rear end of the vehicles. People should avoid talking on the mobiles and making discussions during the ride with co-riders. Safe distance should be maintained between vehicles while driving. The sign board likes “keep distance”, “touch me not” and other humorous slogans like “don’t kiss me” can alert the riders behind to control themselves from over speed to avoid accidents. Try to save the life for the own self and save others’ as well. Drive safe and reach safe to your beloved ones waiting for you at the sweet home always. Driving after drinking liquors, driving in dizzy and sleepy mood should totally be avoided. Driving by children and those who do not possess or pass the driving test and license is not good.

To conclude, safety on the road can be controlled and a safe journey and travel on the road can be established once every person who can follow the rules of the road and driving rules. The general rule ‘Safety ever – accidents never’ applies even on the safety on the road as well.

At last but not the least - SAFE EVER IS HAPPY EVER.
